Workforce DE&I Working Group Hosting Inclusive Leadership Development Event

Talent 2025’s Workforce Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) working group will host its first session for the Inclusive Leadership Development program in January 2018. The Inclusive Leadership Development (ILD) program was created to advance DE&I within West Michigan by facilitating change starting with leadership.
As you know, leadership commitment drives change in any organization. This event will provide a unique opportunity to learn and engage with many other Talent 2025 CEOs to support the advancement of the shared goal to attract, retain, and develop diverse talent both in your company and across the region.
The program has two main objectives. The first is to help employers understand the business case for DE&I. The ILD program will empower employers to formulate their own personal business case and understand that being inclusive is about doing better business.
Additionally, the program will create awareness of unconscious bias by helping leadership teams learn more about how the mind works and sharing strategies for processes to mitigate bias.
The ILD program involves multiple sessions. The first session is scheduled for January 30, 2018 at Fredrick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. It will consist of a 3-hour breakfast meeting from 8:30-11:30 am for CEOs, executive leadership teams, and change agents within their organizations. This session will begin by explaining why workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion are important, as well as highlighting key issues by presenting national and global demographics, data, and themes. The session will also include an hour of key note from world-renowned speaker Andres Tapia from Korn Ferry in Chicago, IL. Additional sessions will be announced first quarter of 2018.
